Sunday School

This activity offers children aged 3-13 years an opportunity to learn about the Christian faith. The program consists of a variety of age-specific learning activities, including Bible stories, discussion, games, craft, drama and cooking. Children attend the 8:30 am Sunday service in the church for the first 20 minutes, then go downstairs to the Blue Room for their dedicated program.The last Sunday each month is designated as Mission Sunday in order to raise awareness of missions and  missionaries.

Time: Sundays 8:30 – 10:00 am (during school terms)

Venue: Blue Room (under the church building)

Youth Group

This group is for young people from those in their fourth term of Year 6 through to those in Year 12 and beyond. The Sunday program includes Bible study, lots of fun games and a shared meal. The youth group program also includes a fortnightly small group meeting and regular social activities. The group leaders say: “We seek to live for a cause greater than ourselves. We do this whilst connecting with each other, having fun and learning to be a follower of Jesus.”

Time: Sundays 3:45 – 6:00 pm (during school terms)

Venue: Church Hall

Note: Each person attending needs a parent to sign ACSQ Consent and Medical Information for
Child-related Activities Form before they can join in.

Young Adult's Group

Our Young Adults group meets on occasional Saturday nights for conversation around a Christian theme and a shared meal. If you’re a young Anglican in Brisbane looking for community, we’d love to have you—check our calendar for the next date.

Singing Mums

The aim of this activity is to provide a time and place for mums to come together, support each other, challenge ourselves and experience the joy of group music making – all in a relaxed, fun, child-friendly environment.

Time: Thursdays 9:30 – 11:00 am (during school terms)

Venue: Blue Room (under the main church building)

Church Library

The church library is open in the Church Hall after the Sunday morning services on the first and third Sunday of the month. The library includes a wide range of books and DVDs suitable for both adults and children. Borrowing is free of charge.

Quilting and Craft Group

Come along and join our friendly Quilting and Craft Group every second and fourth Tuesday between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, in the Church Hall. We begin with a cuppa and then work on our projects as we fellowship together. Bring along your projects and supplies and bring a friend. We would love to see you there.

A Pleasant Saturday Afternoon

This activity is held in the Church Hall between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm on the fourth Saturday of each month. Most attendees enjoy playing a game or two of Mahjong, with Joan, an experienced Mahjong player, on hand to teach and encourage anyone wanting to learn. Other games such as Scrabble and Bridge are also offered. Our fun time together includes fellowship over a mid-afternoon cup of tea or coffee and some goodies.

The group welcomes newcomers. You don’t have to be a regular attendee or even have to stay for the 3 hours.

Bible Study

You are encouraged to join a weekly (or fortnightly) Bible study group. Some groups are held at the church site during the day; others are held in the homes of parishioners in the evening. For more information about any of these groups, contact the Church Office.

A weekday Men’s Bible Study group meets in the Blue Room on Tuesdays, 10:00 – 11:30 am. Contact David if you’d like more information about this group.

A weekday Ladies’ Bible Study group meets in the Club Room on Tuesdays, 10:00 – 11:30 am. Contact Sue if you’d like more information about this group.

St Andrew's Bell Ringers

he Bellringers of St Andrew’s ring the church’s peal of six bells each week prior to the 8:30 am Sunday service and for weddings and other events as requested.

Practice time: Tuesday 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Weekly bellringing: Sunday 8:00 – 8:30 am

Matthew Hale Public Library

The Mathew Hale Public Library (MHPL) provides resources and ministries that help strengthen leadership in Brisbane’s churches and beyond. The library is located in the Blue Room, St Andrew’s Anglican Church, 160 Vulture Street, South Brisbane.

Working Bee

Our Working Bee meets on the 3rd Saturday, 8:00–11:00am, starting with breakfast and a chat. Come for any amount of time—there’s a job for every skill, from garden care to light cleaning and equipment tidy-ups.
